ഷൊറണൂര്‍: സി.എസ്.ഐ. ഉത്തരകേരള മഹാഇടവക ബിഷപ്പ് ഡോ. കെ.പി.കുരുവിളയെ സഭാ നിര്‍വാഹകസമിതിയംഗങ്ങളായ ചിലരുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ തടഞ്ഞുവെച്ചു. നിര്‍വാഹകസമിതിയുടെ തീരുമാനങ്ങള്‍ അംഗീകരിക്കണമെന്ന് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടായിരുന്നു ഉപരോധം. ഷൊറണൂര്‍ ഡിവൈ.എസ്.പി.യുടെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തില്‍ നടന്ന ചര്‍ച്ചയ്‌ക്കൊടുവിലാണ് പ്രശ്‌നം തീര്‍ന്നത്.


ഇളങ്കുളം സി.എസ്.ഐ. ക്രൈസ്റ്റ് ചര്‍ച്ച്, കളമശ്ശേരി ഓള്‍ സെയിന്റ്‌സ് ചര്‍ച്ച് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലെ പുരോഹിതരുടെ സ്ഥലംമാറ്റവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ഉയര്‍ന്ന പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ പരിഹരിക്കുന്നതിന് നടപടി സ്വീകരിക്കണമെന്ന് സഭയിലെ എക്‌സിക്യുട്ടീവ് കമ്മിറ്റി തീരുമാനിച്ചിരുന്നതായി പറയുന്നു.


ഈ തീരുമാനം നടപ്പാക്കുന്നതിന് കമ്മിറ്റിയുടെ ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ എന്നനിലയില്‍ ബിഷപ്പിന്റെ അനുമതി ലഭിക്കുന്നതിനായാണ് എക്‌സിക്യുട്ടീവംഗങ്ങള്‍ പ്രതിഷേധമാര്‍ഗം സ്വീകരിച്ചത്.


അമേരിക്കന്‍പര്യടനത്തിനായി ബിഷപ്പ് ബുധനാഴ്ച യാത്രതിരിക്കാനൊരുങ്ങുന്നതിനിടയിലാണ് കമ്മിറ്റിയംഗങ്ങള്‍ അനുമതിതേടിയെത്തിയത്.


തുടര്‍ന്ന് ഡിവൈ.എസ്.പി. ടി.എ.ആന്റണി, എസ്.ഐ. ബോബിന്‍മാത്യു എന്നിവരുടെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തില്‍ ബിഷപ്പുമായി ചര്‍ച്ചനടത്തി. സഭയിലെ പുരോഹിതരായ ഫാ. ബി.എന്‍.ഫെന്‍, ഫാ. പി.കെ.മാമ്മന്‍ എന്നിവരും ചര്‍ച്ചയില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു.


അമേരിക്കന്‍ സന്ദര്‍ശനത്തിനുശേഷം ബിഷപ്പ് മടങ്ങിയെത്തുമ്പോള്‍ എക്‌സിക്യുട്ടീവ് കമ്മിറ്റിയുടെ തീരുമാനം നടപ്പാക്കാന്‍ അനുമതിനല്‍കാമെന്ന നിര്‍ദേശം ചര്‍ച്ചയില്‍ ഉയര്‍ന്നു. ബിഷപ്പ് മടങ്ങിയെത്തുംവരെ തൃശ്ശൂര്‍ ഓള്‍ സെയിന്റ്‌സ് ദേവാലയത്തിലെ റവ. ഫാ.ജേക്കബ് ഡാനിയേലിന് താത്കാലികചുമതല നല്‍കാനും തീരുമാനമായി.

   ഷൊര്‍ണൂര്‍ : സിഎസ്‌ഐ ഉത്തര കേരള മഹാഇടവക ബിഷപ്പ് ഡോ.കെ.പി കുരുവിളയെ ഒരു കൂട്ടം ഭരണസമിതി അംഗങ്ങള്‍ അടക്കമുള്ളവര്‍ തടഞ്ഞുവെച്ചു. ഭരണസമിതി അറിയാതെ അമേരിക്കയിലേക്ക് പോവാനുള്ള വിവരം അറിഞ്ഞതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്നാണ് തടഞ്ഞുവെച്ചതെന്ന് ഉത്തരകേരള മഹാഇടവക ട്രഷറര്‍ റവ.ബി.എന്‍ സെന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

മുന്‍ ഭരണസമിതികള്‍ നിര്‍മാണ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളിലടക്കം നിരവധി അഴിമതികള്‍ നടത്തിയതായി ഉപരോധക്കാര്‍ ആരോപിച്ചു. ക്ലാര്‍ജി സെക്രട്ടറി പി.കെ മാമന്‍, ലെ സെക്രട്ടറി ജയപാല്‍ സാമുവല്‍, എക്‌സിക്യൂട്ടീവ്-വര്‍ക്കിങ് കമ്മിറ്റി അംഗങ്ങള്‍ എന്നിവരുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലാണ് ഉപരോധം നടക്കുന്നത്. മൂന്നാര്‍ മുതല്‍ പയ്യന്നൂര്‍ വരെയാണ് ഇടവകയുടെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തന മേഖല.

We are living in a democratic country.
The Governments and all other Institutions are
working for the welfare of the people.We have
a beautiful constitution by name Constitution
of India.We the CSI North Kerala Diocese also have our own constitution. All the members including the Chairman of the Diocese are bound to obey the constitution.No other alternative.
All the elected bodies must function as per the norms written in the constitution.Any common member violates the provisions of the constitution is a crime and causes damage to the whole community. 
As you know very well our respected Bishop Dr.Kuruvila keeps violating the constitution as his most favorite hobby.You should not question it because he thinks that he stands above the 'Constitution Of India'.His close allies also propagating the same message and the poor people started believing that 'He is the STATE'. Because of this thought lot of common members were deprived of their basic rights and  privileges and all the 
burning issues commenced.
By the sweat and blood of the people a God fearing,people friendly Executive committee was elected and they started functioning.But this autocrat has been trying to dismantle this elected body and making hurdles when implementing the decisions.
The last executive committee held on 8.12.2011 had taken number of people friendly decisions.Since the bishop is afraid of so many things, those decisions were so irritating for him.
Lot of irregularities were caught 'black and white'by the committee. 
So he just decided to prolong the implementation part.
We came to understand that on 13 th August 2011 the officers met the bishop and requested him to accept the draft  of the minutes of the executive committee.(There is a system exists in the diocese that the officers use to get the concurrence of the bishop before sending the draft copies of the minutes to all other exe.committee members).He refused to accept the decisions of the committee in which he too participated.The bishop was trying to leave for Unites States on 14.12.2011 by 2.30 pm.
Suddenly the people came to know about the 'Over Smartness' of the erred bishop and from various places people rushed  into shoranur and made a blockade to the bishop's house and started resisting.It was about 5 pm.By around 7.30 pm number of executive committee members went the bishop's house and
requested him to open the door for a peaceful discussion.He opened the door and shouted,abused the elected members like a 
'JAMINDHAR'-LANDLORD.


 A petition was lodged in the police station against the bishop for abusing the people's representatives.The poor policemen who came to inquire about the incident were also abused by the bishop.He shouted at the policemen.More people reached from different churches by this time.Finally he was compelled to sign on few cheques including Malabar Christian College's.He was purposefully holding this cheque for no reasons but for his igo.The college authorities borrowed money from its well wishers and spent for NAAC accreditation.So pathetic!!
Apart from this he just revoked the order given to Rev.Immanuel Dosan,christ church munnar instructing him to releave the chairmanship and handover the charges to Rev.Jacob Jebharaj(This was a decision taken by the exe.committee but the bishop revoked it in the next day itself as his own).The people came from Munnar were more agitated.

Again the police came and requested the striking believers to wait till the higher police official comes and find out a solution.
In the morning the number of people crossed one hundred.
People conducted a rally to bishop's office  shouted slogans and staged dharna in front of the house.Medias and channels were present.The removed school manager Mr.C.M.Babu and 
Rev.Trever Jyothish(the only one vicar still supports the bishop!!) were very well present inside his house to 
advise the bishop how to tackle the situation by using tears and sympathy factor.Only six people came there to talk for the bishop including Mr.Jacob Mathew(fort cochin) but their voice gone to 'AIR' when police came.


It was heard that the police summoned the bishop to the police office.But by 11.30 am the DySP of Police accompanied by the CI, sub inspectors reached diocesan office premises and they
met the bishop at his house.The bishop.Police and the diocesan
officers had a long discussion.The bishop was compelled to go as per the 'Constitution of our Church' and appropriate decisions were made.He was permitted by the people to leave for United
States. 


we are so ashamed to report this matter.Because it is not good for our literate Kerala that the intervention of a police officer 
to streamline the administration of a Church and teach the Head of the Church what 'Democracy' is !!!!
This is a  peculiar and serious matter.Nobody can digest this.
So immediate intervention of the Synod is required.
Next time the situation may change and the leaders will be in a pathetic condition because they can not control the force of the people.

മരിച്ചവരെ അനാഥരായി വിടാതെ അവര്‍ക്ക്‌ ആറടി മണ്ണൊരുക്കി കാത്തിരിക്കുകയാണ്‌ എറണാകുളം പള്ളിപ്പുറം മഞ്ഞുമാതാ പള്ളി സെമിത്തേരിയുടെ കാവലാളായ ബേബിച്ചേച്ചി.

ലോകത്ത്‌ ഒരിടത്തും സെമിത്തേരിയുടെ കാവലാളായി ഒരു സ്‌ത്രീ ഉണ്ടാകാനിടയില്ല. മുപ്പത്തിയേഴുവര്‍ഷമായി ബേബിച്ചേച്ചി മഞ്ഞുമാതാ പള്ളിയിലെ സെമിത്തേരിയില്‍ കുഴിവെട്ടു തുടങ്ങിയിട്ട്‌. പുരുഷന്മാര്‍പോലും മൂക്കറ്റം മദ്യപിച്ചു ചെയ്യുന്ന പണി ബേബിച്ചേച്ചിക്ക്‌ ഉപജീവനമാര്‍ഗമാണ്‌. ഇതുവരെ എത്ര കുഴിവെട്ടിയിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നു ചോദിച്ചാല്‍ അമ്പത്തിനാലുകാരിയായ ബേബിച്ചേച്ചി ഒന്നാലോചിക്കും. ''ഏകദേശം പതിനയ്യായിരം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട്‌.''

ആകെയുള്ള മഞ്ഞുമാതാ പള്ളിയിലെ പത്തു സെന്റ്‌ സ്‌ഥലത്താണ്‌ ഇത്രയധികം കുഴികള്‍. ആ കുഴികളില്‍ പത്രോസും വര്‍ഗീസും ജോസഫും തോമസും മേരിയും സാറാമ്മയും ത്രേസ്യയും. അങ്ങനെ നാട്ടിലെ പല പരിചിതമുഖങ്ങളും അന്തിയുറങ്ങുന്നു.

പതിനേഴാം വയസിലാണ്‌ ആദ്യ കുഴി വെട്ടുന്നത്‌. പ്രതിഫലം ഏഴരരൂപ. ഒരാഴ്‌ച മുമ്പാണ്‌ കളത്തില്‍പറമ്പില്‍ ദേവസ്യ ഭാര്യ വിക്‌ടോറിയക്ക്‌ ബേബി ചേച്ചി അവസാനകുഴി വെട്ടിയത്‌. പ്രതിഫലം അഞ്ഞൂറുരൂപ. ഏഴരരൂപയില്‍നിന്ന്‌ അഞ്ഞൂറുരൂപയുടെ യാത്രയ്‌ക്കിടയില്‍ ബേബിച്ചേച്ചി മരണത്തിന്റെ പല മുഖങ്ങളും കണ്ടു, ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ നിസഹായാവസ്‌ഥകള്‍ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞു, അനുഭവിച്ചു. ആരോടും പരാതി പറഞ്ഞില്ല. സ്‌ത്രീ സമത്വത്തിനു വേണ്ടി വാദിക്കുന്നവരും പുരുഷമേധാവിത്തത്തെ വെല്ലുവിളിക്കുന്നവരും പുരുഷന്മാര്‍പ്പോലും ഭയപ്പാടോടെ ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ ജോലി അഭിമാനത്തോടെ നിറവേറ്റുന്ന നമ്മുടെ ബേബിച്ചേച്ചിയെ ഇതുവരെ കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല. അല്ലെങ്കിലും നമ്മുടെ സമുഹത്തില്‍നിന്ന്‌ ഇതില്‍കൂടുതല്‍ പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാനും കഴിയില്ലല്ലോ?...

മരണത്തിനു കുഴിവെട്ടി ജീവിതം

ഏകദേശം മുപ്പത്തിയേഴുവര്‍ഷം മുമ്പ്‌, മഞ്ഞുമാതാ പള്ളിയിലെ കുഴിവെട്ടുകാരിയായിരുന്ന അമ്മ കുഞ്ഞമ്മയെ സഹായിക്കാനാണ്‌ ബേബി സെമിത്തേരിയില്‍ എത്തിയിരുന്നത്‌.

ആദ്യദിവസം അമ്മ പഴയ ശവക്കുഴി തുറക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടപ്പോള്‍ ബേബിയെന്ന പാവാടക്കാരി പെണ്‍കുട്ടിയുടെ ഉള്ളം പിടച്ചു. കുഴിയില്‍ മണ്ണോടു പൂര്‍ണമായും അലിഞ്ഞുചേരാത്ത ചീഞ്ഞളിഞ്ഞ മനുഷ്യശരീ

രം. അതിന്റെ ദുര്‍ഗന്ധം. ചിതറിക്കിടക്കുന്ന അസ്‌ഥിക്കൂടങ്ങള്‍. ദ്രവിക്കാത്ത വസ്‌ത്രങ്ങള്‍. ഇഴഞ്ഞുവരുന്ന പാറ്റ, ഇരുതലമൂരി തുടങ്ങിയ ഇഴജന്തുക്കള്‍....

സെമിത്തേരിയിലെ ഭയക്കുന്ന കാഴ്‌ചയില്‍ ആ പതിനേഴുകാരി അമ്മയെ വിട്ടു വീട്ടിലേക്ക്‌ ഓടി. സെമിത്തേരിയിലെ കാഴ്‌ചകള്‍കണ്ട്‌ ഭയന്നുള്ള ആദ്യത്തെയും അവസാനത്തെയും ഓട്ടമായിരുന്നു അത്‌. ഒരു ആണ്‍കുട്ടിയുടെ മനസില്‍പോലും ഭയമുണരാന്‍ മതിയാകുന്ന കാഴ്‌ചകള്‍ ജീവിത പ്രാരാബ്‌ധങ്ങളുടെ വേലിയേറ്റങ്ങള്‍ക്കിടയില്‍ ബേബിയെ പിന്നെ തളര്‍ത്തിയില്ല.

അമ്മയ്‌ക്കു വയ്യാതായതോടെ ബേബി പാരമ്പര്യം കൈയിലേല്‍പ്പിച്ച മണ്‍വെട്ടിയുമായി മഞ്ഞുമാതാ പള്ളിയുടെ സെമിത്തേരിയിലേക്കു നടന്നു. മഞ്ഞുള്ള പ്രഭാതങ്ങളോ വെയിലുള്ള ഉച്ചകളോ കരിയിലപോലും അനങ്ങാത്ത സന്ധ്യകളോ പിന്നെ ബേബിയെ അസ്വസ്‌ഥപ്പെടുത്തിയില്ല. ജനിച്ചാല്‍ ഒരിക്കല്‍ മരിക്കും. മരിച്ചാല്‍ ഓരോരുത്തരും ആറടി മണ്ണിന്റെ ജന്മികളാണ്‌. ആ ആറടിപോലും ആര്‍ക്കും സ്വന്തമല്ല. മാസങ്ങള്‍ കഴിയുംമുമ്പേ മുകളില്‍ മറ്റൊരു മരിച്ച മനുഷ്യശരീരമെത്തും. പിന്നെയും അതുതന്നെ ആവര്‍ത്തിക്കും. അവര്‍ക്കെല്ലാം സെമിത്തേരിയില്‍ അന്ത്യവിശ്രമംകൊള്ളാന്‍, ഏതു കുഴിയില്‍ അടക്കണമെന്നു മനക്കണക്കുകൂട്ടി ബേബി ചേച്ചി മണ്‍വെട്ടികൊണ്ട്‌ ആഞ്ഞുവെട്ടും. ആറടിമണ്ണിനു വേണ്ടതു മുക്കാല്‍ മണിക്കൂറിന്റെ അധ്വാനം.

''ജീവിക്കണമെങ്കില്‍ നമ്മള്‍ പലതും സഹിക്കണം''

ബേബിയുടെ ചെറുപ്പത്തിലേ അപ്പന്‍ ചവരോ മരിച്ചുപോയിരുന്നു. അമ്മയുടെ തണലിലായിരുന്നു പിന്നെ ബേബിയുടെ ജീവിതം. രോഗബാധിതയായ അമ്മ തന്റെ കാലശേഷം മകള്‍ക്കു ജീവിക്കാന്‍ മറ്റൊരു മാര്‍ഗവുമില്ലെന്നു തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ്‌ പറഞ്ഞു. ''ബേബി മോളേ, ജീവിക്കണമെങ്കില്‍ നമ്മള്‍ പലതും സഹിക്കണം. പലതും കേട്ടില്ലെന്നു നടിക്കണം. ചിലതെല്ലാം കണ്ടില്ലെന്നും.''

അമ്മയുടെ ആ വാക്കുകളാണ്‌ ജീവിതയാത്രയിലെ ബേബിയുടെ എപ്പോഴത്തെയും വേദവാക്യം.

ചിലദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ നാലു കുഴികള്‍ വരെ ബേബി കുത്താറുണ്ട്‌. അന്നു വരുമാനംകൂടും. എന്നുകരുതി ഇടവകയില്‍ ഇന്ന്‌ ആരെങ്കിലും ഒന്നു മരിക്കണേ എന്നു പ്രാര്‍ഥിക്കാന്‍ കഴിയില്ലല്ലോ? അടുത്ത പള്ളികളിലെ സെമിത്തേരിയില്‍ കുഴിവെട്ടുന്നതു പുരുഷന്മാരാണ്‌. അവര്‍ക്കറിയാം ചില കുഴികള്‍ തുറന്നാല്‍ അതില്‍ മണ്ണോടുചേരാത്ത മൃതദേഹങ്ങള്‍ കാണുമെന്ന്‌. അപ്പോള്‍ അവര്‍ ബേബിയെ വിളിക്കും. ഉപജീവന മാര്‍ഗത്തിനുമപ്പുറമാണ്‌ ബേബിക്ക്‌ ഈ കുഴിവെട്ടലെന്ന്‌ അവര്‍ക്കറിയാം. അത്യപൂര്‍വമായ തന്റെ ജീവിതവേഷത്തിന്റെ നിയോഗം ബേബി തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട്‌. മൊബൈലുണ്ടെങ്കിലും മൊബൈലില്‍ വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞാലൊന്നും ബേബി വരില്ല. മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഉറ്റവര്‍ നേരിട്ടു വീട്ടിലെത്തി വിവരമറിയിക്കണം. മരിച്ചശേഷമുള്ള അടിയന്തിരത്തിനും ചിലര്‍ വിളിക്കും. ചിലപ്പോള്‍ പോകും. ''എങ്കിലും ഇതുവരെ എന്റെ മരിച്ച ബന്ധുക്കള്‍ക്കായി ഞാന്‍ കുഴി കുത്തിയിട്ടില്ല. അതെനിക്കു വയ്യ. ചിലപ്പോള്‍ പുതിയൊരു കുഴിയെടുക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ആ കുഴിയില്‍ അടക്കം ചെയ്‌ത ബന്ധുമിത്രാദികളുടെ അസ്‌ഥിപഞ്‌ജരങ്ങള്‍ കാണാറുണ്ട്‌. അപ്പോള്‍ ഒരു നിമിഷമോര്‍ക്കും. അത്രയുമുള്ളൂ, ഓരോ മനുഷ്യന്റെയും കാര്യം.''

പരേതാത്മാക്കള്‍ പലവിധം

ഒരേപോലെ ആരും മരിക്കാറില്ലല്ലോ? മരണം പലര്‍ക്കും പല രീതിയില്‍, പല പ്രായത്തില്‍, പല സമയങ്ങളിലായിരിക്കും സംഭവിക്കുക. ഭൂമിയില്‍ കോടികളുടെ ഉടമയും ഉപജീവനത്തിനു മാര്‍ഗമില്ലാത്ത ദരിദ്രനും എല്ലാം ഒടുവിലെത്തുന്നത്‌ ആറടി മണ്ണിലേക്കാണ്‌. ''കത്തിക്കരിഞ്ഞവര്‍, തൂങ്ങിമരിച്ചവര്‍, അപകടമരണം സംഭവിച്ചവര്‍, രോഗബാധിതരായി മരിച്ചവര്‍, കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്‍, പ്രായംചെന്നു മരിക്കുന്നവര്‍ അങ്ങനെ പലതരത്തില്‍ ഇഹലോകവാസം വെടിയുന്നവര്‍ക്കായാണ്‌ കുഴിവെട്ടുന്നത്‌. എല്ലാവര്‍ക്കും ആറടി മണ്ണുതന്നെ അളവ്‌. കുഴിവെട്ടാന്‍ വിളിക്കാന്‍ വരുമ്പോള്‍ എല്ലാവരും ചേച്ചീന്ന്‌ സ്‌നേഹത്തോടെ വിളിക്കും. മാറിനിന്ന്‌ എന്താണ്‌ എന്നെ വിളിക്കുന്നതെന്നറിയില്ല. ഇപ്പോള്‍ ദ്രവിക്കാത്ത തരത്തിലുള്ള മഞ്ചപ്പെട്ടികളില്‍ അടക്കം ചെയ്യാറുണ്ട്‌. പോളിയെസ്‌റ്റര്‍ വസ്‌ത്രങ്ങള്‍ ധരിപ്പിക്കാറുണ്ട്‌. ചിലതെല്ലാം എംബാം ചെയ്‌തവയായിരിക്കും. അങ്ങനെവരുമ്പോള്‍ ജോലി അല്‍പം കാഠിന്യമുള്ളതാകും. ഇതെല്ലാം എനിക്കു ദൈവശുശ്രൂഷയുടെയും മരണശുശ്രൂഷയുടെയും ഭാഗംതന്നെയാണ്‌. അതിനാല്‍ ഈ ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നതിന്‌ എനിക്കു യാതൊരു അഭിമാനക്കുറവുമില്ല.''

അതു പറയുമ്പോള്‍ മുഖത്ത്‌ ഒരുപാടു ജീവിതം കണ്ട ഭാവം.

''ഒരു ശവക്കുഴി വെട്ടുകാരിക്ക്‌ ആരാണ്‌ ജീവിതം തരിക?''

പള്ളിപ്പുറം മഞ്ഞുമാതാപള്ളിക്കു കീഴില്‍ പലരും ജനിക്കുകയും മരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്‌തു. കാലം ഒരുപാടു കടന്നുപ്പോയി. മറ്റെല്ലാ പെണ്‍കുട്ടികളെ പോലെ വര്‍ണസ്വപ്‌നങ്ങളുമായി ബേബിയെന്ന പതിനേഴുകാരി പാവടക്കാരി പെണ്‍കുട്ടി ഒരുപാടുവളര്‍ന്നു.

ബേബിചേച്ചിക്ക്‌ അപ്പോള്‍ നാല്‍പത്തിനാലു വയസ്‌ പ്രായം.... ''ഒരു ശവക്കുഴി വെട്ടുകാരിക്ക്‌ ആരാണു ജീവിതം തരിക?'' എന്ന ചിന്തകള്‍ ബേബിച്ചേച്ചിയെ നയിച്ചകാലം. അങ്ങനെയിരിക്കുന്ന സമയമാണ്‌ ഓച്ചന്തുരുത്തിലെ കയര്‍ സൊസൈറ്റിയിലെ ജീവനക്കാരനായിരുന്ന പുഷ്‌കിന്റെ മനസില്‍ ബേബിച്ചേച്ചി ഇടംപിടിച്ചത്‌. പ്രണയത്തിനു പ്രായമില്ലല്ലോ?...പുഷ്‌കിനാകട ്ടെ ഹിന്ദു സമുദായത്തില്‍പ്പെട്ടയാളും. പുഷ്‌കിന്‍ ചോദിച്ചു ''ഞാന്‍ നിനക്കൊരു ജീവിതം തരട്ടേ?''

നാടും പള്ളിയും അമ്പരന്നു. നാട്ടുകള്‍ മൂക്കത്തു കൈവച്ചു. ഒരു ക്രിസ്‌ത്യാനി സ്‌ത്രീയെ ഒരു അന്യമതക്കാരന്‍, അതും സെമിത്തേരിയുടെ കാവലാളെ...

''നല്ല മനുഷ്യന്‍. സാധാരണ ആണുങ്ങള്‍ക്കു തോന്നാത്തതു തോന്നിയല്ലോ. സ്വന്തം ഇഷ്‌ടപ്രകാരമാണ്‌ പിന്നെ അദ്ദേഹം മതംമാറി പുഷ്‌കിന്‍ ആന്റണിയെന്ന പേരു സ്വീകരിച്ചത്‌. ഇപ്പോള്‍ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു കാന്‍സറാണ്‌. ഓപ്പറേഷന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞു വിശ്രമത്തിലാണ്‌. പലരും സഹായിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട്‌ ചികില്‍സാച്ചെലവും മറ്റും നടന്നു. ഇനിയും നല്ലൊരു തുക വേണം. സഹോദരിയുടെ മകളുടെ മകന്‍ ജോയല്‍ എല്ലാ പിന്തുണയുമായി കൂടെയുള്ളതാണ്‌ ഏക ആശ്രയം.''

ബേബി-പുഷ്‌കിന്‍ ദമ്പതികള്‍ക്കു കുട്ടികളില്ല. അന്നുമിന്നും പുഷ്‌കിന്റെ വീട്ടുകാരുടെ മനസിന്റെ പടിക്കുപുറത്താണ്‌ ഈ ദമ്പതികള്‍. കാന്‍സറാണെന്നറിഞ്ഞിട്ടും ആരും ഒന്നു തിരിഞ്ഞുനോക്കാത്തതില്‍ ബേബിക്കു സങ്കടമുണ്ട്‌.

മഞ്ഞുമാതാ പള്ളിക്ക്‌ 500 വര്‍ഷത്തെ ചരിത്രമുണ്ട്‌. ഡച്ചുകാരാണ്‌ ഈ പള്ളി പണികഴിപ്പിച്ചത്‌. ആ ചരിത്രത്തിന്റെ ഒപ്പമാണ്‌ ബേബിച്ചേച്ചിയുടേയും യാത്ര. മരിച്ച മനുഷ്യന്റെ ആത്മാവ്‌ സ്വര്‍ഗത്തിലോ നരകത്തിലോ പോകുന്നതെന്ന കാര്യം അവിടെ നില്‍ക്കട്ടെ....

ഒന്നു പറയാം. നമ്മള്‍ മണ്ണില്‍ ലയിക്കേണ്ടവരാണ്‌. മരിച്ചവരെ യാത്രയാക്കാന്‍ മഞ്ഞുമാതാ പള്ളിയിലെ മണികള്‍ മുഴങ്ങുന്നതിനു മുമ്പ്‌... പ്രാര്‍ഥന ഉയരുന്നതിനുമുമ്പ്‌... ആറടിമണ്ണിന്റെ കുഴിയുമായി ബേബിച്ചേച്ചി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്‌. മനുഷ്യര്‍ക്കു മണ്ണിലേക്കു മടങ്ങാന്‍ മരണത്തിനും ജീവിതത്തിനുമിടയിലെ നൂല്‍പ്പാലമായി.

the reports.
5.To stop the construction of Bishop's house till the report of the special inspection
committee comes.
6.To expel Mr.C.M.Babu(The removed CSI Malabar School Manager)from all the
elected posts.
7.To remove Rev.Immanuel Dosan from the Chairmanship of the Christ Church,
MUNNAR and to appoint Rev.Jacob Jebaraj as the new Chairman.

STAY ON SCHOOL APPOINTMENTS LIFTED BY tHE HON.HIGH COURT.

The interim stay order passed by the Hon.High court AGAINST THE SCHOOL APPOINTMENTS  OF CSI  MALABAR SCHOOL CORPORATE MANAGEMENT has been lifted(Case No-WP(C)28982/2011(S). This Public Interest Litigation suit was filed by one Mr.Sajan Mathew(own brother of the expelled manager Mr.C.M.Babu).He misled the Hon.Court by producing certain records which were handed over to him by the expelled manager(His own brother) and obtained the ex-parte stay. But by the Grace of God those records itself were more than enough to prove that Rev.Vinod Allen and Rev.Fen are innocents.We understand that the last executive committee has taken a decision to send this expelled manager  out from all elected posts and initiate criminal proceedings for cheating the people of NKD..

We congratulate The. Rev.Fenn(Diocesan Treasurer)and The.Rev.Vinod Allen(The Corporate Manager for All Schools in Malabar and Wayanad)for exposing the strangers who tried to mislead the Hon.High Court of Kerala and also made hardships to students,employees,parents and also to the poor candidates who are waiting for appointments in the management. 

We congratulate Adv.Kunhikrishnan Pulleri,the standing counsel of CSI Malabar schools corporate Management in the Hon.High Court of Kerala and Adv.Salil Narayanan who appeared for the teachers.


This verdict is an another hit to the people who try to sabotage the values of church democracy.

MULLAPERIYAR DISPUTE: CHURCH OF SOUTH INDIA’S RESPONSE (Released on Dec. 5, 2011)

The Church of South India, with more than 4 million people in 22 dioceses, of which 4 are in Kerala (South Kerala, Madhya Kerala, East Kerala & North Kerala) and 8 in Tamil Nadu (Coimbatore, Vellore, Trichy-Tanjore, Madras, Madurai-Ramnad, Tirunelvely, Thoothukudy–Nazareth & Kanyakumari), expresses her deep concern over the ongoing dispute over the Mullaperiyar Dam, located in Kerala, and controlled and operated by Tamil Nadu. The Church is worried over the reports by various agencies that the 116 year old dam would not withstand an earthquake above magnitude 6 on the Richter scale, the consequence of which would be seriously detrimental to the people both in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, though in varying magnitudes. 

The Church of South India, urges the Central Government to immediately intervene in the issue, pertaining both to the life and livelihood of the people. The Church also urges the political and religious leaders, along with the civil society and media, and especially the people of Kerala and Tamil Nadu to jointly find a common consensus to this sensitive issue which could be mutually agreed upon and which would be advantageous to the people of both the states.

The Church of South India, humbly requests the Supreme Court of India to expedite the legal process, considering the urgency and importance of the issue and pronounce the verdict immediately. The Church, in the meanwhile, requests the people, to remain immune to the differing reports, which may or may not be politically motivated, and to restrain and refrain from any unwarranted provocations both in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Moreover, taking into consideration the ecological effects of dams, the Church of South India suggests projects and initiatives in India that promote and build environmentally sustainable, small-scale, cost-effective and decentralized water and power systems that deliver to the needs. Efficient water management with zero environmental hazards should certainly be a long term objective which needs priority attention.

The Church of South India pledges her solidarity with all the people, irrespective of their regional identities and bindings, empathizing with their struggles, anxieties and fears over the reports and disputes.  The Church assures her prayers and hopes that, the Almighty would help us to evolve a decision, mutually agreeable and just and that peace would be instilled back in the minds and lives of our brothers and sisters, both in Kerala and Tamilnadu.
