കോഴിക്കോട്: വെള്ളത്തുള്ളികള്‍ ദേഹത്ത് വീണപ്പോള്‍ ലിഗേഷിന്റെ ശരീരമാകെ കുളിരുകൊണ്ടു. എന്നിട്ട് എല്ലാവരെയും നോക്കി അവന്‍ പുഞ്ചിരിച്ചു. കാരണം കുളി ഈ യുവാവിന് വളരെ കാലത്തിനുശേഷമുള്ള ഒരനുഭവമായിരുന്നു. മഴ പെയ്യുമ്പോള്‍ മാത്രമാണ് ലിഗേഷിന്റെ ദേഹം നനയാറുള്ളത്. പിന്നെ നാളുകള്‍ക്കുശേഷം നനഞ്ഞത് ചൊവ്വാഴ്ച യൂത്ത് ഫെലോഷിപ്പ് അധികൃതര്‍ കുളിപ്പിച്ചപ്പോഴായിരുന്നു. ലിഗേഷിന്റെ ജട പിടിച്ച താടിയും മുഷിഞ്ഞ അവസ്ഥയുമെല്ലാം മാറ്റി ഒരു പുതിയ ആളായി അവനെ മാറ്റിയെടുത്തു.
കുറച്ചുമുമ്പ് കണ്ടയാളല്ലല്ലോ എന്നായിരുന്നു കുളിച്ച് വൃത്തിയായതിനുശേഷം ലിഗേഷിനെ കണ്ട സി.എസ്.ഐ. പരിസരത്തെ വ്യാപാരികളുടെയും ജീവനക്കാരുടെയുമെല്ലാം പ്രതികരണം. കാരണം ജട നീട്ടി വളര്‍ത്തിയ മുടിയും അഴുക്കു പിടിച്ച വസ്ത്രങ്ങളുമായി മനോനില തെറ്റിയ യുവാവിനെയാണ് ആളുകള്‍ക്കെല്ലാം പരിചയം. മാനാഞ്ചിറ സി.എസ്.ഐ. കത്തീഡ്രലിനു കീഴിലുള്ള യൂത്ത് ഫെലോഷിപ്പ് പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരാണ് ജീവകാരുണ്യ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ലിഗേഷിനെ കുളിപ്പിച്ച് വൃത്തിയാക്കിയത്. പുതിയ ചെരിപ്പും വസ്ത്രങ്ങളും നല്‍കുകയൂം ചെയ്തു. ബാംഗ്ലൂരിലെ നാഷണല്‍ ഇന്‍സ്റ്റിറ്റിയൂട്ട് ഓഫ് മെന്റല്‍ ഹെല്‍ത്തില്‍ കൊണ്ടുപോയി ചികിത്സിക്കാന്‍ താത്പര്യപ്പെടുന്നതായി ഫെലോഷിപ്പ് ഭാരവാഹികള്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
യൂത്ത് ഫെലോഷിപ്പ് ഭാരവാഹികളായ സുനീത് പുളിക്കല്‍, ബിനല്‍, റാന്‍ഡോള്‍ഫ് വിന്‍സന്റ്, പ്രഫിന്‍, കിരണ്‍, ഷിനോയ്, റെയ്മണ്‍ എന്നിവരാണ് ജീവകാരുണ്യ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് നേതൃത്വം നല്‍കിയത്.

HISTORY OF OUR SCHOOLS-02,BEMHSS,PALAKKAD
The B. E. M. Higher Secondary School, Palakkad was established as an English School in May 1858 by Rev. J. Strobel, a Missionary of Basel Evangelical Mission. The First Headmaster of the School was Mr. Pothen. In 1860 it became an Anglo-Vernacular School. It was upgraded to a Middle School in 1864 and to a High School in 1905. It became a Higher Secondary School in the year 2000.
The main building of the school was constructed in 1910. This building is unique in architecture designed and constructed by Rev. T. Maue, a German Architect cum Missionary. There are no other school buildings in Kerala equal in architectural beauty to the BEM High School.
The BEM Higher Secondary School was one among the oldest schools in the Malabar District of the Madras Province at the time of its origin. It is the oldest school in the present Palakkad District of Kerala State.
The school is now governed by the Church of South India, the Chairman is Rt. Rev. Dr. K. P. Kuruvilla and the Corporate Manager is Rev.Vinod Allen. The Principal in charge of the Higher Secondary Section is Sri. Thomas. T. Kuruvilla and the Headmistress of High School is Smt. Sheela. P. John.
The school has catered to the educational needs of thousands of people since its inception. The admissions have been open to all without discrimination of religion, caste status in society.
It has churned out hundred of great men since its origin. Sri. T. N. Seshan, the former Chief Election Commissioner of India who got the 1996 Ramon Magsaysay Award for Government Service and Padma Vibhushan Dr. E. Sreedharan, MD, , the Engineer who built the Pamban Bridge in 46 days, who was also the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year for 2007 in the Public Service category, the Konkan Railway and the Delhi Metro Railway in record time are two among the great men that the BEM School has produced.

HISTORY OF OUR SCHOOLS-01 BEMHSS.Parappanangadi,Malappuram
BEM Higher Secondary School (Basel Evangelical Mission Higher Secondary School (Previously High School)), Parappanangadi is located at Parappanangadi village in Malappuram district, Kerala, India. It is the oldest school in this region. The institution came into existence as a primary school in 1904 to cater to the largely uneducated masses of the locality. The Basel Evangelical Mission, which started its missionary work in South India in 1839, was instrumental in giving new dimensions to education in Malabar.
By 1910, the school was known as B.G.M. (Basel German Mission) Elementary School. The local people were actively involved in the development of the institution. Cheramangalam Mana contributed about four acres of land for the school playground. In the mid-1940s, the Parappanangadi High School committee handed over the school allotted to it by the then Madras Government to the Basel Evangelical Mission, thus enabling the local children to have higher education in the town itself.
The school was renamed B.E.M. High School in 1947. Now, the school is under the control of the Church of South India Corporate Management (Malabar and Wayanad).
In olden days, boys and girls used to walk eight to 10 kilometres from places such as Thirurangadi, Vengara and Vallikunnu to reach the school. The school has actively promoted sports and games for boys and girls. It has won several trophies in football, volleyball, athletics, ball badminton, handball, throw ball and softball at the district and State levels[citation needed]. It is situated behind Parappanangadi Railway Station
Its alumni include many famous personalities around the society. In 2007, BEM High School celebrated its centenary anniversary[citation needed]. The Kerala State Government has approved a Higher secondary division for BEM High School from the year 2010. It is now known as BEM Higher Secondary School, Parappanangadi. The Education Minister of Kerala, P. K. Abdu Rabb is an alumnus of this school.
