The CSI Department of Ecumenical Relations and Ecological Concerns and the CSI Department of Pastoral Concerns, in partnership in the National Council of Churches in India Commission on Justice, Peace and Creation, is organizing the World Environment Day - 2013 Celebrations and Ecological Consultations on 'Food Justice' for the CSI Pastors. Around 100 Delegates are attending the Consultation, which was inaugurated by the CSI Moderator, Bishop Most Rev. Dr. G. Devakatacham. Following the inaugural session, Dr. G. Nammalvar, Social Activist and Organic Agriculturist, delivered the Key-Note Address. Dr. Roger Gaikwad, General Secretary, NCCI, presented the Biblical Perspective of 'Food & Justice'. In the afternoon, there were two panel discussions,‘Food Justice: Excluded Communities’ Perspectives’ and ‘Food Justice: People’s Perspectives’. The panelists were Mrs. Jessica Richard, Member, Asian Women's Resource Center for Culture and Theology, Mr. Jim Jesudas, Director, VIDYAL, Miss. Sakthi Devi, Transgender, Rev. Deva Jothi Kumar, Faculty, India Theological Seminary ,Rev. Chandramohan, Trustee, Corner Stone Trust, Chennai, Rev. Chrisda Nithyakallyani, Youth Secretary, UELCI, Mr. Alagesan, Dalit Activist, Chennai, Mr. Sudaroli Sundaram, Tribal Activist, Gingee, Mr. M. A. Sekhar, Activist, Fish Workers, Chennai. In fact, the whole consultation began with a very meaninful worship, led by Rev. Timothy Ravinder, CSI-EMS Liaison Officer.
